SPIRIT

The GNV Spirit is a ferry owned by the Grandi Navi Veloci company. Built between 1999 and 2001 at the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft shipyards in Kiel, Germany for the Greek company Superfast Ferries, she was originally named Superfast V (Σουπερφαστ V) Her entry into service on routes between Greece and Italy would not occur until April 2001 due to technical problems that arose during her construction. Sold in 2010 to Brittany Ferries, she was named Cap Finistère. Since then she has been sailing on the Brittany company's routes between France, the United Kingdom, and Spain. In 2022 she was sold to Italy's Grandi Navi Veloci, and will operate in the Tyrrhenian Sea under the name GNV Spirit.
