Description

Wild, rocky and bathed by a turquoise and crystalline sea: Cala Aiacciolu looks in all its beauty. A small beach located on the southern side of the island of Santa Maria, one of the largest islands in the famous La Maddalena Archipelago. Immersed in the intense scents and colors of the Mediterranean scrub that extends behind it, it is characterized by medium-grained pink sand and shale rocks that emerge from the water, also present on the beach. The sea is clear and calm, the seabed is full of fish, with rocks and posidonia, suitable for snorkeling. Nearby it is possible to visit an important wetland area, inhabited by rare avian species: the Padule pond. From the beach you can also enjoy the wonderful panorama of the island of Budelli and the island of Carpa, located right in front of the bay. The cove can be reached by sea with private boats or guided tours departing from Palau, La Maddalena or Santa Teresa di Gallura or by land, along the road that crosses the south coast of the island of Santa Maria.
