Isola di Foradada

Description

The Island of Foradada is located on the north-western coast of Sardinia, near Capo Caccia in the territory of Alghero city. It is a large limestone rock perforated from side to side (hence the name) by the erosion of the sea that has shaped a cave (the Grotta dei Palombi) populated by cormorants, pigeons and seagulls. It is possible to access the island by boats from the west side, and it is the destination of guided excursions with boats that depart from the port of Alghero city. This wonderful and evocative island offers unique emotions, thanks to the chromatic contrast given by the white of the rock and the intense blue of the waters that surround it and allows you to enjoy a breathtaking view, with its walls overlooking the sea. It has numerous small submerged caves and seabed populated by marine life: this makes it interesting for underwater excursions and those at night are particularly popular. It is also a popular destination for climbing enthusiasts.
