Museo archeologico, Olbia

Description

The museum is located on the island of Peddone in the center and recalls the shape of a moored ship. Illustrated the story of the city and the territory starting from prehistoric times up to the nineteenth century. Numerous archaological testimones refering to the Phoenician, Greck, Punic and Roman times of the urban and port area. The only city in Sardinia to have been inhabited by the  Greks, it had been given the name of Olbia ( happy ).It is the only one in the world that displays masts and rudders from the Roman age.
