Museum archeologico di Viddalba

Description

The Museum is located in the municipality of Viddalba, in the north-west part of Sardinia: it documents the history of the territory, from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. The most interesting aspect of the exhibition is given by the funerary steles, called "mirror", found in the nearby Roman necropolis of San Leonardo. The steles placed in memory of the deceased are sandstone slabs on which curious stylized human faces are sculpted. Also interesting is the collection of ceramic pottery, glass ointments, gold jewelry, coins and bronze artifacts from the Roman age.
