Museum archeologico nazionale

Description

The National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari is located in the southern part of Sardinia and is the most important in the whole region. It is spread over four floors, in a building inserted in the citadel of museums, and exhibits a rich heritage of objects and finds that trace the different cultures of the island from the pre-Nuragic age to the early Middle Ages. Thanks to the numerous donations and the considerable archaeological material brought to light, it has a high and inestimable display of finds. The first level is dedicated to a didactic didactic presentation starting from the most important prehistoric cultures of the island, the everyday contexts of the Nuragic, Phoenician, Punic and Roman civilizations. Also on the ground floor there is an interesting collection of Punic and Roman coins and an educational showcase for the blind. The remaining floors display the finds found throughout the island following a topographical criterion with references dedicated to specific archaeological sites.
