Description

In the municipality of Paulilatino, in the province of Oristano, it is possible to visit the nuragic sanctuary of Santa Cristina which takes its name from the rural church that is nearby. The site consists of two parts: in the first there is a suggestive sacred well dating back to the Nuraghic age, while the second consists of a single tower nuraghe, with a typical truncated cone shape, dating back to the Bronze Age and prior to construction. of the sacred well. Scholars have not yet established what the function of this nuraghe was, whether it was used for military or religious purposes or whether it was an astronomical observatory.
