Spiaggia di Capo Sperone

Description

Capo Sperone Beach is located in the extreme southern tip of the island of Sant’Antioco, in the extreme southwest of Sardinia. The beach is characterized by fine sand with the presence of pebbles, about one hundred and fifty meters long, while the remaining part is made up of a set of rocks and stones. The beach is very suggestive, surrounded by wild coves, offers a breathtaking view, thanks to the presence of some islets that emerge from the deep sea, named as La Vacca, Il Vitellino and not far away Il Toro. The seabed has very fine sand with the presence of rocks and stones ideal for snorkeling. Its waters are transparent, of a color between turquoise blue and emerald green, impossible not to visit it if you are in this area. In the hinterland, two kilo meters from the cliff, you can visit the former Capo Sperone traffic light: built in 1887, it initially served as a naval traffic light, then later became a military radio station. During the Second World War it was a radar station and an anti-ship and anti-aircraft defense lookout. The building was definitively abandoned in 1957
