Description

The Sa Oche and Su Bentu Caves are located in the territory of Oliena, in central-eastern Sardinia. The name is perhaps due to the intense noise produced by the strong air flows generated by the movement of water inside. Both caves have cavities even a few kilo meters long and large rooms, up to a hundred meters high, enriched with numerous stalactites and stalagmites, concretions with tunnels and pavements covered with sharp crystals, small underground lakes and beaches of quartz sand. The Sa Oche cave has a large entrance inside which three different lakes are formed, has a length of 260 meters and the terminal siphon is in close communication with the adjacent Su Bentu cave, which opens at 206 meters above sea level. altitude and has a very broad mainly horizontal development. It is also rich in lakes and salons. The mouths of the caves are strongly suggestive, as well as for the '' voices of the wind '', also for the intense beauty and the excellent state of conservation.
