Museo del Banditismo

Description

The Museum of Banditry is located in Aggius, a small and characteristic village of Gallura, which for about three centuries was the fulcrum of Gallura banditry starting from the mid-16th century, the Spanish period, up to the mid-19th century when it was dominated. Savoy. The goal of this museum is to spread positive values for the construction of a mentality that favors the affirmation of legality and public morality at every level. Not surprisingly, it was set up in the palace of the old Magistrate's Court and is located in the oldest area of the town where numerous murders were committed in the alleys adjacent to this building more than a century ago. The exhibition is divided into four rooms that house a beautiful documentation and objects that are worth seeing. A case is dedicated to the bandit of Aggius Sebastiano Tansu, the "Muto di Gallura", a figure who inspired Enrico Costa's novel of the same name.
