Museo Storico della Città di Sassari

The Palazzo della Città, built between 1826 and 1829, is the seat of the city and offers the visitor a museum exhibition itinerary divided into two sections; the west wing, with entrance from Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, offers an immediate representation of the places, memory and identity of the city, a representation of the city surrounded by walls and nineteenth-twentieth-century photos; on the first floor there are the reception rooms, through the foyer, you enter the historic Civic Theater, inspired by the Carignano Theater in Turin, the east wing of the building, houses on the upper floors the installations on the theme of traditional clothing between the city and countryside, a room houses the works of Eugenio Tavolara: Holy Week and the Carnival of Sassari, a room is reserved for the religiousness of the city (Holy Week).
