Pinacoteca Nazionale di Sassari

The Pinacoteca is housed in the former Jesuit college of Archbishop Antonio Canopoleno. This historic building, located between the church of Santa Caterina and the Palazzo Ducale in the center of the city of Sassari, offers the visitor the opportunity to admire both important collections of the most significant Sardinia artists of the twentieth century and an exhibition of various artists coming from donations of paintings, sculptures and artifacts dating back to a historical period between the Middle Ages and the first half of the twentieth century. The picture gallery is divided into three floors of a very large building that allows you to organize the illustration following a common thread represented by the themes depicted: religious, historical, portrait, still life and genre scenes.
