Tombe dei giganti Santu Bainzu

Tomb of the Giants of Santu Bainzu is located about two kilo meters from the town of Borore, a municipality in the province of Nuoro, in central Sardinia. Discovered by Lamarmora in the mid-nineteenth century, it presents a dolmen-type burial with an imposing arched stele, 3.24 meters high, renovated in the 1960s because it was struck by lightning, which today is unfortunately almost devoid of the frame, except for the top. The exedra is preserved in a few parts in fact of the thirteen meters in length assumed today only one meter is visible. The funerary compartment, on the other hand, retains the original measure of six meters in length but the apsidal profile, the hemicycle and the ortho stats are no longer there. Above the trapezoidal door, located in the lower part of the stele, there is an oval cup while two others are visible in the upper part.
