Description

The Torre d'Ostia is a look out tower, located on the promontory of Cala d'Ostia, in Santa Margherita, (a small hamlet of Pula, famous for its beaches and camping as well as for the Tower), it was built with five miles from the Torre del Coltellazzo di Nora, to the west in the Cala called "Cala de Hostia" or the mouth of the river. It was built by the Spaniards in 1601 for the defense and custody of the present kingdom, about nine meters high, in a truncated cone shape with a domed vault, it was used until 1847, the year of the suppression of the Royal Administration of the Towers.
